this and that

not alot going on in our world of late...take that back...there is alot going on, just nothing too exciting. except baby jared. still very much excited about that.

haven't sold our house so we are still driving all over the world.

label biz is insane (but a very good insane)...i feel like i work from 5 until 10.

addison is all. over. the. place.

another birthday came and went. 28 feels good i guess.

real work is insane. i roll from one deadline to another. i have one friday...another one in 3 weeks. sigh.

i have two favorite pictures as of late. this one is kinda artsy-fartsy. like when my grandmother used to say "get that hair out of your face, i can't even see you" i have a feeling she would say "why crop that baby out of the picture, i can't even see addison." but i like it anyway.

this one i love because it will always and forever remind me of addison's chunky little legs. soon she will start walking and the days of those eat em up leg rolls will be gone. and i will miss them. at least i will have this picture of my little miss in her yellow skirt not being afraid to show a little leg.

that's all for now...

the tingles have survived what turned out to be an attack of another ear infection...hence the no sleep wednesday night. after a shot, ear drops, and a heavy duty antibiotic, she is on the mend. dr. brian laid down the law though - this is addison leigh's last chance, next ear infection means little girl is getting some tubes. after all that, we are back to sleeping all night in her own bed and trying desperately to catch up on that long night in the tingle home.

little button designs

many of you know that my mom and i started a little side company last year just because we don't have enough on our plate. after months and months and months of promising a website, it is finally up and running. now beware, it is definitely nothing fancy, but it works and that is all that matters. so please take some time and browse the site and by all means, order some labels!

p.s. i am also hoping to start a little invitation line designed by yours truly so if you have a party coming up or a shower let me know...i would love to help.

long night

it was a long night in the tingle home last night. it started off great as addison was down and out at her normal bedtime (unlike the last two nights where we have been all over the place with dinners and banquets). terry and i enjoyed the night watching tv, hanging out, sleeping. at 1:11 am we hear addison crying. it sounded like her "had a bad dream and will calm down just give me a second" kind of cry. we went in to check on her, found her paci and tried to sneak out of the room. no hope. the crying gets worse. next step: rock her. she is loving it, so comfy and happy and finally falls asleep. i attempt putting her back in bed where she cries a bit more but is soon back to sleep. oh good, i think to myself, that wasn't so bad. or so i thought. 2:02 am the crying starts back up. what in the world? my daughter, who cherishes sleep, is not sleeping. next step: bottle. she inhales to bottle (at least that is normal) in about 1 minute. we rock some more and she falls asleep again, this time clinging to me. time check: 2:26. try putting her down again and all hell breaks loose. next and hopefully final step: addison, your sleeping with me babe. so i take her to our room, move henry dog down to the end of the bed, lay her in between terry and i and off the sleep she goes...full belly and happy baby. i am speechless. my child has never, not once ever, slept in the same bed with us. she has always been quite independent when it comes to snuggling, being held, napping and even bedtime. i just pray tonight will not be round 2. have you ever slept in a bed with a henry dog, snoring terry, and baby you are praying you don't roll over in the middle of the night? not to restful, people, not so restful. just goes to show you every day is a new day in parentville.

routine

there are times when i have a hard time sticking to a schedule. i like for my days to flow and happen as they may. in college i would drive to birmingham at the last minute without a second thought. there was even a night when my people and i drove to wilmington to see our katie mae...just because. it was exciting and fun and a wonderful feeling of freedom - there is so much freedom in allowing yourself to just be.
because of this need to "just be" addison has been toted around, bagged up, carted off, and on the run here, there, and everywhere from the day she was born. even up until last weekend. terry got the stomach bug and not two seconds after his first trip to the bathroom i was on the phone telling my mom addi-bug and i were heading to macon. it was crazy, i know, but that is just the way i roll. but even in the midst of this, i know my daughter needs stability, a schedule, and a routine. there is something so safe and peaceful about a routine. there are rarely any surprises or major events...just day to day living. today has been one of those days - just a wonderful fresh breath of routine. i was in the bed most of the day sleeping and fighting off the dreaded stomach bug but i knew that my two loves were enjoying a day together playing, napping, and eating...and all at the "routine" times. though no matter what our days look like, addison always has a night time routine and it is always her favorite. as i have said before, she loves bathtime. she loves dunking her head under the running water. she loves playing with her rubber ducky and frogs. she loves to make waves and see how much water she can splash out of the tub. but as always, bathtime ends, we dry off, lotion up, put diaper on and pj's, have bottle, read book, say prayers and off to sleep. it is the same every night. and i love it.
