to the beach...

first let me say i have no idea who this guy is...i just like this picture. i have "pictures of the day" pop up on my homepage when i get on the internet. and this one struck me. maybe only because my mind is on all things beach since that is where i will be come 8 pm tonight. or maybe this week has been a roller coaster and i find peace and serenity in this photograph. these are the happenings of my life over the past week: my presentation was a succes, terry's grandmother passed away, addison was exposed to whopping cough, got some other news i did not want to hear, and then some that made me smile, visited with my girls in atlanta, held little natalie as much as i could, a good friend's father had a heart attack, jill had baby anderson, there was a tornado scare at 3 in the morning where you could find us tingles huddled in the bathroom, long day of funeral and family, got some much anticipated girl scout cookies, and finally, i am heading to the beach.
ok,see you later. who knows, maybe i will have brooke take a picture of me like this to grace the pages of this blog.

peek-a-boo

what in the world is this you wonder? well, since my life has been all about work these days, addison has been a permanant face in the office. terry will stop by on the way home so i can hug on her and let her see my face for just a moment before i hit the computer again. however, i hate to admit it but i am afraid it is not the hugs she looks forward to when she walks in these doors - it is kristin and her special game of peek-a-boo that gets my little miss so excited. we have these cut-outs in our countertops of the office where we hang half-size sets of our drawings. This one however is not yet occupied with anything - except a kristin and a little girl. addison just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES when kristin hides underneath the countertop. Addison leans over, peeks inside and then all of a sudden - POP! goes the kristin - and little miss just laughs and laughs. and the cycle begins. too funny i tell you.

beloved sunday

sunday. the sunday i have been waiting for since august. the sunday of freedom. the sunday to a new beginning. it is finally here - the sunday after wrestling season! it is all over my friends...for the next six GLORIOUS months coach tingle is off duty. no football practice, no wrestling matches, no wednesday night seed meetings, no late night practices and no more days without addison seeing her daddy. praise the dear Lord...we have our terry back!!!! to celebrate, we decided to go somewhere that is very special to us and we thought it was the perfect day to introduce addison. pevine falls. where it all began. where terry took me while we were dating. where we have been bike riding. where we got engaged. this place, these trails, these falls mean so much to us...and it was time for them to mean that much to addison as well. after a good picnic by the lake we headed up the mountain to where the trails begin. we strapped addison in and off we went. she was a trooper in the "backpack" and loved swinging her legs all about. when we finally got to the top of the falls she was amazed...it was very sweet to see her wonder but also her timideness as she was grasping on to her daddy.

strapped in and ready to hit the trails!

i am convinced addison loves the water. i know what she was thinking "yesterday i got to go swimming...why not now"...

for your knowledge, i was thinking that since we had addison with us, terry would go easy on the hike. i was wrong. really wrong. hiking with terry is not a leasurely sport...it is serious. and mom got seriously scared while going down this trail.

sick little shannon

this is shannon, one of my people, and poor shannon is sick. shannon has been cooped up in her house for 6 days with the flu or something yucky like that - and shannon does NOT like to be cooped up. what you ask, is the result of our shannon being cooped up in the house for 6 days...lots and lots and lots of email surveys. they are her favorite! i have gotten so many i cannot even remember if i have read them or not. on top of that i can only imagine what else our sick shannon has been doing at home. stalking myspace and facebook people, watching lots of lots of tv, sleeping but now that is even boring, talking on the phone, more surveys, blog reading, hmmmm...the list goes on and on. so, i thought i would help you pass the time little sick shannon. there is quibblo.com where you can make your own quizzes...and then bored.com who knows what you will find there....or you could always look for me a new house at realtysouth.com...and of coarse there is always youtube.com for your enjoyment.

so from the whole tingle clan...we love you shannon and hope you feel better soon!!!

wii

some of you may notice i have done a little rearranging on my blog. and most of you know that is not uncommon in my world...i love to rearrange things - my furniture, my blog, my projects - it's what i do. if you look to the right you will notice a link to where i work - the all time most fabulous place to work. and i am still saying this after working 60+ hour weeks this month. yes this place has its moments and days where i don't want to be here, but for most of the year, i love this place. i must admit that an architecture firm is a pretty different atmosphere to work in. you walk in and it is usually a pretty impressive building and interior. it has to be. if not what does that say about you and what you design. next, you will see a sea of workstations in the studio. but this is the one office that relishes in "cubicles"...we work so much in teams that it makes sense. we love it. and then in all the workstations you will see headphones...maybe some head movement to a beat or two...or someone laughing because their book on tape is pretty funny...who knows what else but you can gaurantee that everyone here has a pair of office headphones. as if it isn't enough to work in a cool space, talk to neighbors in an amazing studio, listen to the latest pod cast from e!news, watch march madness on any two of flat screen tv's (forgot to mention those didn't i?!?!?)....now you can take a work break and play some tennis on the NEW WII!!!!!!!!!!! i mean, i love this place.

even addison and ava jane were amazed by the wii!

little architect

so my life lately has been all about work. and addison's too for that matter. she has been up at my office more than she has been at home. at least the office is fun! there are movies there and mom brings toys, there is a wii for all us "big kids" to play with, too! and on saturday azlan came to play. azlan is only 3 weeks younger than addison but has a mouthful of teeth and is quite a bit taller than our stout little addi-bug. there were very cute while having a little DAI (davis architects, inc) playdate. hopefully my endless weekends and weeks at the office will be over soon...but until then at least addison had a little buddy to play "architect" with.
